Day 1

We made to Paris!!! It was a long night with a 7 hour flight to Reykjavik in Iceland, an hour lay over and then a 3 hour flight to Paris. We arrived the next day at 1pm, a 8 hour difference in time from Colorado. My friend Anne is taking this journey with me.  It's great to have a travel companion.

And who was there to greet us at the airport but Clarisse my former exchange student. Thank God she came to meet us at the airport. We forced ourselves to stay upright following our 12 hour night flight and spent the afternoon on Saturday with our trustee companion Clarisse. Two weary travelers who were a little intimidated, very much appreciated having a native navigate us thru the underground metro maze to our hotel.

It sure was neat to see Clarisse after three and a half years. I thought it was only 2 years but she celebrated her 16th birthday before leaving the US in 2011 and she is now 19. We have such fond memories of a semester with dear Clarisse. Now to see her in her home town of Paris on her own turf with three years more of maturity was quite a treat. What a wonderful gal in all ways.

We mostly spent the afternoon getting to the motel and then catching up with Clarisse on the last three years. We did have the opportunity to eat our first crepe on the streets and we all enjoyed that. You had your choice of sweet or savory and they make it right in front of you.

It was 10pm before we made it to bed and that's when I discovered my roommate snores!
